Why a water reading still appears out of range after completing an action

Last updated 16 days ago

Overview

After completing a recommended water care action in the Gecko App, you may notice that a reading still appears highlighted or out of range on the Water page.

This is normal behavior.

The app tracks:

  • Your latest recorded water reading

  • The actions you have already completed

Once you confirm that an action was completed, the recommendation is removed, even if the displayed value has not changed yet.

Why this happens

Water readings do not instantly change in the app after adding chemicals to your spa.

For example:

  • You complete the action Raise your pH

  • The action disappears from the Water page

  • The pH value may still appear highlighted or outside the recommended range

This happens because the app is still displaying your last recorded test result.

The app assumes:

  • You already added the recommended product

  • The water is currently stabilizing and mixing

What to do next

After completing a water adjustment:

  1. Let the spa circulate the water

  2. Wait for the chemicals to fully dissolve and mix

  3. Perform a new water test later

Once a new test is completed:

  • The readings will update

  • The Water page status will refresh automatically

  • New recommendations will appear only if needed

💡 Tip: Water chemistry changes can take time depending on the product used, filtration, and circulation.

Important notes

  • Completing an action removes the recommendation, not the recorded reading

  • Highlighted values represent the latest measured result

  • The app avoids repeating the same recommendation immediately after you confirm it

  • A new water test is required to verify whether the adjustment corrected the issue

This behavior helps prevent duplicate recommendations while your spa water stabilizes.
