Connection issue with mesh Wi-Fi systems
Last updated About 2 months ago
Overview
Some mesh Wi-Fi systems (including routers with advanced security features) may block or delay the connection between the in.touch 3 Home module and the Gecko app during setup. This can prevent the spa from connecting or completing required firmware updates.
Temporarily adjusting these security features usually resolves the issue.
Steps to fix the issue
Open your router’s app or web settings.
(This varies by brand and model.)Locate your network’s security or advanced settings.
Temporarily disable advanced security features, such as:
Device or traffic filtering
Threat protection
Network-level firewalls
Internet backup or failover features (if available)
Save your changes.
Power cycle your in.touch 3 Home module:
Unplug it from power.
Wait about 10 seconds.
Plug it back in.
Wait up to 2 minutes for reconnection.
Complete the spa setup in the Gecko app.
⚠️ Notice: These security features must remain disabled during setup to allow the in.touch 3 Home module to connect and communicate properly.
Allow time for firmware updates
Once your spa is connected:
Wait up to 24 hours for firmware updates to complete on both the Home and Spa modules.
Updates run automatically in the background and help improve compatibility with mesh networks.
💡 Tip: You can continue using your spa while updates are installing.
Re-enable security features
After the firmware updates are complete:
You may re-enable your router’s advanced security features.
In most cases, your in.touch 3 system will continue working normally once updates are finished.
