How to start a pump or waterfall
Last updated 4 months ago
Overview
The Pump and Waterfall controls are located in the control bar at the bottom of the Gecko App. From here, you can easily start or stop any of your spa’s pumps or waterfall features.
The icons reflect the real-time status of each function, so you always know which components are running.
How to use it
Locate the control bar at the bottom of your spa dashboard.
Find the pump or waterfall icon you want to activate.
Tap the icon once to start the pump or waterfall.
If it’s a two-speed pump, tap the icon again to engage the second speed.
To turn it off, tap the same icon once more.
💡 Tip: Pumps may start automatically during heating or filtration cycles, this is normal and part of spa operation.
What you’ll see / Indicators
The app visually shows when pumps or waterfalls are active:
Indicator | Meaning |
Blue icon | The pump or waterfall is currently running. |
Rotating icon animation | The pump is currently running. |
Gray (inactive) icon | The accessory is turned off. |
Tips & related info
Two-speed pumps cycle through: Off → Low → High → Off with each tap.
When the spa is heating, the heater pump may turn on automatically and cannot be manually turned off.
If you have multiple pumps, their names (e.g., Pump 1, Pump 2, Waterfall) appear directly below each icon for quick identification.
Common questions
Why can’t I turn off my pump?
Some pumps are linked to heating or filtration. They will automatically run during those cycles to maintain temperature and water quality, then stop once the process is complete. View Pump or Waterfall Status Indicators
