My spa isn't filtering, or the pump runs on its own

Last updated About 2 hours ago

You might see this as

  • "Filtration is not running on the schedule I set"

  • "The filter cycle stops after a few minutes"

  • "My circulation pump runs every half hour"

  • "The keypad shows CF"

Quick answer

Filtration follows the schedule of your active Water Care mode, or your Smart Spa Routine when it is on. The pump also runs for short periods on its own, for example to check the water flow before heating.

What you notice

What is most likely happening

What to try

The pump runs for a moment and the keypad shows CF, right before heating

A normal flow check: the spa confirms water is moving before the heater turns on

Nothing to do. To see why a pump is running, see Pump or Waterfall Status Indicators.

Filtration doesn't follow your times, and a Smart Spa Routine is on

The routine manages filtration while it is on, so the Water Care filter cycles don't apply

Keep the routine, or turn it off in Energy > Smart Routine to use your own filter cycles.

Filtration doesn't follow your times, and no routine is on

The filter cycles may not be set the way you expect in the active mode

Open the ☰ menu > Settings > Water Care, tap the ✏️ next to your active mode, then the Filter Cycle tab. See How to edit filtration schedules.

Filtration is set correctly but stops early or doesn't start

This needs a look at your spa's settings and data

Send us the details below in the chat.

The pump runs on its own every 20 to 30 minutes, or a new spa doesn't heat at all

Depends on when it started

If it started when your in.touch 3 was installed or after an update, contact us in the chat. Otherwise, your spa dealer is the best contact.
