How to record a refill

Overview

Recording a refill helps the Gecko App keep your water care recommendations accurate.
Each time you drain and refill all or part of your spa, you should record it so that the app resets your water readings and adjusts dosing guidance accordingly.

Step-by-step instructions

  1. Open the side menu (☰)
    Tap the Menu icon in the top-left corner of the screen.

  2. Go to Settings → General
    From the menu, select Settings, then tap the General tab.

  3. Find the “Drain & Refill” section
    Scroll down to the Drain & Refill card.
    If you’ve never recorded a refill, you’ll see a Tell Us button.

  4. Tap “Tell Us” or “Record a Refill”

    • If it’s your first time, tap TELL US.

    • If you’ve recorded one before, tap RECORD A REFILL to update it.

  5. Select when you last drained and refilled your spa
    Choose the option that best matches your last water change:

    • Within the last week

    • Within the last month

    • Between 1 and 2 months ago

    • Between 2 and 3 months ago

    • Between 3 and 6 months ago

    • More than 6 months ago

  6. View your refill history
    After saving, the widget will display:

    • Last Refill: The time since your last recorded drain and refill.

    • Recommended Refill: When you should next change your water.

  • Recording a refill resets your water chemistry tracking, ensuring your next dosing and balance recommendations are accurate.

  • If you partially drain your spa, you can still record it, it’s better to update than skip it.

  • The Recommended Refill timeframe depends on your spa’s usage and sanitizer type.
