Test strip scan could not be completed

Last updated 18 days ago

Overview

If the app cannot properly read your test strip photo, you may see a warning asking you to scan again or manually confirm your water readings.

This can happen if:

  • The entire strip is not visible

  • Lighting conditions make colors difficult to read

  • The strip is blurry or partially blocked

  • The scan engine cannot confidently detect the results

The app will still let you manually adjust and confirm the readings so you can continue your water test.

How to fix the scan

Before scanning again, make sure:

  • The entire strip fits inside the on-screen frame

  • All color pads are fully visible

  • The image is sharp and not blurry

  • The strip is placed flat on a clean surface

  • There are no shadows or reflections on the strip

Scan again

If the scan was unsuccessful:

  1. Tap Scan Again

  2. Reposition the strip inside the guide

  3. Hold your phone steady

  4. Retake the photo

The app will attempt to analyze the strip again automatically.

Manually adjust the results

If the scan still does not look correct, you can manually adjust the detected values directly on the result screen.

Compare each detected color with:

  • Your physical test strip

  • The color chart printed on the test strip bottle

Select the color value that most closely matches your strip, then tap Confirm.

⚠️ Always verify the results before confirming. Lighting conditions and camera quality can sometimes affect color detection accuracy.

If the issue continues

If scanning repeatedly fails:

  • Clean your phone camera lens

  • Try a brighter environment

  • Avoid direct sunlight

  • Use a plain, light-colored background

  • Make sure the strip is scanned within the recommended reading time

You can always continue by entering or adjusting the readings manually.
