How to change your sanitizer method

Last updated 4 months ago

Overview

The sanitizer method setting tells the Gecko App how you maintain clean and safe water in your spa. Selecting the correct method ensures accurate water care recommendations and chemical dosing instructions. You can update this setting anytime in the General section of your spa settings.

Step-by-step instructions

  1. Open the side menu (☰)
Tap the Menu icon in the top-left corner of the screen.

  2. Go to Settings → General
From the menu, select Settings, then tap the General tab.

  3. Tap “Edit” in the General section
Under the General card, tap EDIT to open your editable spa details.

  4. Scroll down to the Sanitizer section
You’ll see a list of available sanitizer methods.

  5. Select your sanitizer type
Choose the method that matches your current spa setup:

    • Chlorine – For spas using chlorine tablets or granules.

    • Bromine – For spas using bromine tablets (typically in a floater).

    • @Ease – For spas using the Frog® @Ease® system.

    • Salt – For spas equipped with a salt generator that uses chlorine when needed.

  6. Tap “Save”
Once you’ve selected the correct sanitizer, tap SAVE in the top-right corner.

Important note

Changing your sanitizer method will remove any incompatible chemicals from active use in the app. This helps ensure future water care recommendations match your new sanitizing system.

💡 Tip: Always choose the sanitizer method that reflects your spa’s actual setup, using the wrong one may cause inaccurate water care guidance.
