How to add a water report

Overview

Water reports help keep your spa’s readings accurate by adding measurements that can’t be tracked automatically by the Gecko waterlab probe (optional). You can enter these values manually or, if you’re a Premium user, use the built-in test strip scanner for faster and more precise results.

Add a new water report

To create a new report:

  1. Open the side menu in the Gecko app.

  2. Tap Water report.

  3. Select Add at the top right of the screen.

  4. Choose how you’d like to enter your results:

    • Scan test strip (Premium feature) — Use your camera to capture readings automatically.

    • Enter manually — Type in your results from test strips, a pool store test, or other water test methods.

💡 Tip: The app will suggest which readings are due soon (like pH and sanitizer) and which are encouraged less often (like hardness or alkalinity).

Premium feature: Test strip scanner

If you have a Premium subscription, you can scan compatible test strips directly in the app.

  • Make sure your strip is placed on a flat, white background with good lighting and no shadows.

  • Take the photo within 60 seconds of dipping the strip in water.

  • Align the strip in the guide on screen for the best results.

⚠️ Notice: The test strip scanner is available only for Premium users. Manual entry is available to all users.

When your report is submitted

Once your water report is added, the new readings will appear under Report readings and be used for your water recommendations right away.
